Dublin Games Confrence 2019
RAID Studios hosts Dublin Games Conference in the wake of a cancelled European Games Week.
European Games Week was scheduled to hold a 2 day industry summit in late September of 2019 as part of its week-long gaming festival. The entire event was cancelled only 5 days before the first day of the summit was to take place, leaving many speakers and guests who had already travelled from near and far unsure of how to proceed.
Our team reached out to Christian Schultz, CEO of TiltSpot.TV who was a scheduled speaker for EGW set to travel from Norway as he expressed an interest in a community organised backup event. With his help, we were able to get in contact with all of the speakers, who were eager to see a backup event take place.
In the few days remaining until the event would have taken place, we were able to secure a tremendous amount of support from local and international game studios as well as individuals, including sponsorship which allowed us to secure a venue, production team, brand and website.
We were delighted to welcome over 100 guests throughout the day as well as hosting some very interesting topics and debates. The feedback has been deeply humbling and encouraging from all across the industry.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our sponsors and partners for not only putting their trust in us to deliver the event but encouraging us to take over the space going forward.
We are currently in talks on planning for 2020 and look forward to announcing details on Dublin Games Conference 2020 in the coming weeks.
